Migration to T+1 in nuam Equity Markets

As you may know, both the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Canadian Capital Markets Association (CCMA) decided to migrate the equity settlement cycle from T+2 to T+1 in May 2024.

At nuam, aligning with global practices and after conducting an exhaustive analysis of the operational, technological, and regulatory implications, we have decided to reschedule the migration to the T+1 settlement cycle for the second half of 2027.

This decision will allow us to implement the entire new technological and operational infrastructure for the entire value chain of the single market, in line with the adoption timelines anticipated by the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) and the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM).

What does this change entail?

The migration planned for the second half of 2027 will be adjusted to ensure a more efficient process aligned with global standards.
Foreign securities markets in Chile and Colombia may adopt T+1 earlier as long as nuam's new IT infrastructure allows it and in those securities whose home markets have migrated to T+1.
This adjustment will enable us to ensure a secure and efficient transition with minimal impact on our market participants.
